Essay Planning
Good morning students!
Today, we're going to quickly look at planning an essay.
1) Go to this website.
2) Where it says "Your Name", write your nickname and number.
3) For "Topic", please choose one of these statements about things we have studied since the mid-term:

- My favourite memories.
- I am a happy person.
- We can't be happy all the time.
- English is difficult to learn.
- Parents should be nicer to teenagers.
- Teenagers should be nicer to parents.
- Fashion is important.
- Fashion is not important.
4) Write a short introduction for your essay. Include your argument.
e.g. "I have many happy memories from my life. Here are some of my favourite memories."
5) Choose 3 main ideas that you could talk about for your topic. You don't have to write too much information! Write only a few words.
e.g. "Family holiday", "My pet", "My first Songkran"
6) Write three supporting sentences for each idea.
e.g. "When I was 8, I went on a holiday with my family."
"We went to the beach."
"I remember swimming in the sea, and making sandcastles with my parents."
7) Write a short conclusion to finish the essay plan.
e.g. "I have many happy memories from my life. I am grateful for all the good experiences thatI have had."
8) Click "Save" in the top right corner. Save the file as a PDF, then email it to m4seek@gmail.com

Memory
Today's lesson is on the topic of memory.
First, we're going to watch this video about Henry and his Hippocampus, a part of the brain that deals with memory:
Henry was unable to form long-term memories, as his hippocampus had been removed. This is called anterograde amnesia. The other main kind of amnesia is retrograde amnesia, where people can make new memories but can't remember before a certain point in their past.
These are examples of bad memory- but some people have very good memories. Stephen Wiltshire is autistic, but has a 'photographic' memory:
Photographic memory is also called eidetic memory. Here is a news report about some people with eidetic memories, including a ten year old boy:
