Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) is one of the most important ideas in computers and technology today. Ever since the invention of computers, we have controlled how they think. A.I. is the next step.
A.I. is about computers "learning" and thinking without us humans telling them what to do.
What is intelligence?
Intelligence does not mean the same thing for everybody:

There are many reasons why computers are not able to "trick" people into believing they are real. However, computers are very intelligent at some things. For example, they can play chess and beat humans:
Since 1997, computers have become much more intelligent. For example, they can now play the TV game Jeopardy! In Jeopardy!, people have to say questions for their answers. For example, a question on Jeopardy! might say:
This man is the President of the United States and was born in Hawaii.
To win, you have to say: "Who is Barack Obama?"
IBM made a computer called Watson, and sent it to play Jeopardy!
He doesn't get everything right, but knows how to take risks:
A.I. is growing faster and better every year. Soon, A.I. might be able to do lots of things.
Is this a good or bad thing?

I thought that Cleverbot was not like a human, because it asked me some strange questions and did not always answer questions that I asked it. But it did ask me some interesting questions.

This was the conversation I had with Cleverbot. It asked me some sensible questions, but it didn't answer some of mine. From how much I've experienced so far, Cleverbot seems very intelligent.

I think Cleverbot don't talk like a human because it can't understand the meaning that I want to asked. Sometimes Cleverbot don't answer my question and change the topic.
