Irregular verbs are very common in English, and you have to use them all the time. Unfortunately, there isn't a rule for using irregular verbs: you just have to learn them all...
Here are some examples. |
English is hard. |
But don't worry! We're going to do lots of work on how to use irregular verbs. First, we'll play two games of bingo.
Next, we'll play a slap game on the board.
Now go to the computer and take this quiz with a friend. You have to choose between the past simple and past participle. For example:
I swam in the Ping River yesterday.
I have never swum in the Ping River.
You've used the past simple tense a lot, but the present perfect tense is newer. This explains when and how we use the present perfect tense.
Next, try and play this game with a friend. It is difficult, so just try your best!
Finally, if you've finished all of the activities then work with your friend to answer these questions.
