Sleep and Dreams

Good morning students! Today, we're continuing to look at the topic of sleep and dreams.

First, we're going to watch this video about natural sleep patterns. Watch carefully, then think about the questions below.

  • What animal does she use to give an example of a "chemical clock"?
  • Would you like to go underground without a clock? Why, or why not?
  • How much later did the people underground wake up every day?
  • How can sunlight and darkness affect how humans behave?
  • What is the "ideal" sleep pattern?
  • Do you think you could change to the "ideal" sleep package? Why, or why not?
Now, please answer this Buzzfeed quiz about your sleep habits. If there are any words or phrases you don't understand, you can use Google to translate. Are your sleeping habits normal? Were there any answers that surprised you?

For the final activity today, I'd like you to post about a dream you had on the M4 SEEK blog. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Log-in and check your Gmail. You should have an invitation to edit the M4 SEEK blog. Accept the invitation.
  2. If you now go to m4seek@blogspot.com , you should see your name on the right-hand side as a contributor.

3. Now, click on 'New Post' in the top-right corner.

4, In your post, I'd like you to describe an interesting dream that you had. You should try to write as much as you can! You can answer these questions to help you start:
  • What happened in your dream? What were you doing?
  • Where were you? Was it somewhere real, or somewhere that you imagined?
  • Who were you with in your dream?
  • How did you feel in your dream?
When you're finished, click the orange 'Publish' button in the top right corner. Congratulations!
